So I scheduled an interview for THIS MORNING. That’s right, the morning after my absolute favorite team in my absolute third favorite sport was to play in the Super Bowl. Why did I make this unexpected move? Because I wasn’t thinking when I said, “Sure, Monday morning will be fine.”
And so, I stayed home to watch the game, much more nervous for my upcoming interview, which I felt completely unprepared for, than for my Giants hopes as they lost the lead to the unbeaten Patriots.
I would have written my champagne-like thoughts (whatever that means) on the Super Bowl after the game if it had not been for my retardo interview time, which caused me to miss some of the game AND go to bed right after it. But now, as Super Bowl XLII is so yesterday, I will say nothing more than this: I am thankful that, as I pulled the covers over my anxious body, every butterfly in my stomach had a smile on its face. (What??)
By the way, if you have ever experienced the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, as I did today (only adding to my nerves), imagine what it would be like to see hundreds of people frozen in place inside Grand Central. Courtesy of a group of pranksters who call themselves Improv Everywhere, this is one of the coolest pranks I’ve seen. The video’s popularity is well deserved.
If you would like to see more of their prank “missions,” there is an Improv Everywhere YouTube channel. Oh, and this is their website. Shit, I’m so helpful.
