Well, since I last posted, the name of the hardcore punk rock group Black President lost some of its “edge.” I won’t blame them for not thinking ahead, since I didn’t see this coming in 2005 either. I’ll just laugh at them in my head for trying to be hardcore with a name that now packs as much punch as Pink Eraser. Maybe they should have gone with something more fail-proof, like Parakeet President.
Speaking of black presidents and unintelligent decisions: Isiah Thomas.
The first few weeks of 2009 have shown that everyone on God’s green earth was correct in labeling former New York Knicks president and coach Isiah Thomas inadequate and ignorant. New Knicks president Donnie Walsh and Coach Mike D’Antoni have done everything Thomas wouldn’t do and everything Knicks fans wanted to do all along. Stephon Marbury was replaced by a pass-first point guard in Chris Duhon, cap space was cleared for 2010, and David Lee was given a starting spot and more minutes. Going into tonight’s game against the Sixers, the Knicks are 19-24. Last season, they finished 23-59. “I can’t expect [the fans] to understand the game the way I understand it or see it the way we see it,” said Coach Thomas last season. Turns out the fans understood the game better all along.
Fortunately, the unintelligent black president was merely the president of a sports franchise. A highly intelligent black president is the leader of our great nation. Everyone – even punk rock supergroup Black President – should be thankful for that.

I did not do a very good job with that and I apologize. Honestly, I would rather read a transcript myself rather than sit through all the clapping. I’ll save that read-through for tomorrow… or for never. Let me make this up to you with a profound statement:

I really am proud to be an American. And although many seem to agree that major changes are needed, the people of America are blessed to have the ability to make change when it’s called for.

Obama is the son of a non-religious white American mother and a Muslim-turned-Atheist Kenyan father. Obama himself is therefore half black. He is a member ofRev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr.’sTrinity United Church of Christ, which has been criticized for being Afrocentric, but I won’t get into that. (I’m talking politics and religion here. I need to be careful not to lose the support of my thousands, if not millions, of dedicated bloggers.)
But I bring up Obama’s religion because of an e-mail my mother received. It goes like this:

Obama’s parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. Hismother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia. When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, “He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school.”
Obama’s political handlers are attempting to make it appear that he is not a radical.
Obama’s introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son’s education.
Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta.
Wahabism is the RADICAL ISLAMIC teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.
Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegience norwill he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their andsover their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama’s expected presidential candidacy.
The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level – through the President of the United States, one of their own!!!!

If you actually take the time to check snopes.com, the site referenced in the e-mail and the sole basis of the e-mail’s factuality, you will see that not even THEY are calling this factual.
But really, this is the kind of BS that is going to happen during a presidential race, especially for a candidate who is of partial Muslim heritage and has the name Obama. Honestly, that is a really unfortunate last name for 2008.
I am actually pleasantly surprised that Obama is doing so well in the polls. Racism does still exist amongst the idiots of America. Have you ever read viewer comments on sites like YouTube or eBaums World? You’d be surprised how many times the n-word is still used in a racist and not “What’s up, my nig?” manner. But Obama’s success shows that America truly has come a long way since the Civil Rights movement.
It would help the man’s cause, though, if he would put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.
Obama claims he was taught to hold his hand over his heart during the Pledge, not the National Anthem. But come on – you’re running for president, you’re not at a baseball game.
As I reprimand Barack Obama, a sense of regret comes over me. Saying anything negative about him makes me feel as if I am insulting God.
Barack Obama has such a dignified disposition. It’s in his calm facial expression, his bold hand gestures, and the deep baritone of his voice. When I observe him, I sense confidence, passion, and comfort. Oh look at me, I’m blushing.
I feel as if everything Obama says is coming straight from God by way of thin light-skinned Kenyan. I’ll believe anything he says. And I think that this is why America has shown him such great support. It’s why everyone can relate to Obama Girl.
